Call me Mr.O says designer Rodrigo Otazu. The confluence of luxury and modern jewellery techniques in the Muse collection for the Christmas Collection

Who is she, the wonderful muse, that offers the inspiration to create unbelievable masterpieces? For my Brand, it is a confident and passionate woman with a hint of sparkle and charm. One of the brand’s most recent innovative collections has been named in her honour: Muse.

Every collection includes an element of a certain fantasy, either a technical or design secret, and the latest ‘Muse’ collection is no different. One of the most regularly applied and complex approaches is the signature invisible method of setting stones when several are positioned right next to each other, creating the effect of a bejewelled roadway. The process is intricate not only from a technical point of view, but in terms of the resources required. Indeed, to create the right illusion, stones of almost identical clarity, colour saturation and size are required. The more exclusively selected the stone is, the harder the task becomes; only the best jewellery houses can permit themselves to attempt this technique.

The search for unique – and to some extent even magical and unexpected – technical and design methods to make Mr Otazu Designs is an analogy for the female muse that has the soul of a chameleon: independent and self-assured, she can also be passionate and sensitive. Whether she chooses to put on comfortable trainers or high heels, she never forgets the jewellery that lives and breathes with her wherever she journeys.

“Muse is the continuation of collections that we called ‘illusions’. But the manner in which we have developed our mosaic and the way in which each Muse diamond is made is distinguished by the concept, design and technique,” explains Mr Rodrigo Otazu

DESIGNER RODRIGO OTAZU TELLS YOU HERE’S HOW & WHY TO TAKE YOUR BRIDAL JEWELRY ON YOUR HONEYMOON

Your honeymoon is the celebration of your union, a time for the couple to relish in their marital bliss. As a bride, you probably haven’t come down from your wedding day high yet; all of the glamour and beauty of the day.

Brides always wonder what they will do will their bridal earrings after the wedding day. You can keep your bridal moment going by letting your bridal jewelry become your honeymoon jewelry. It is a great way to take parts of your wedding day ensemble with you on your honeymoon.

Before running off to your honeymoon here are a few tips on traveling with your bridal accessories (costume or fine jewelry) and making sure they return home with you looking as beautiful as they did when you left.

There are certain things to take into consideration when you bring jewelry with you on holiday. Always travel with the jewelry you aren’t wearing in your carry-on luggage to avoid theft, but there are other hazards to be aware of.

Lotions, potions, and beauty products

Sun protection products are great for your skin but terrible for jewelry. The chemicals found in lotions and sprays can be incredibly damaging to many kinds of jewelry, especially cultured pearl jewelry.

Make sure that all of your products are completely absorbed into your skin before jewelry touches your body.

Is you do get some cream on your jewelry, clean the metal with an alcohol wipe and use a soft cloth to wipe off any residue on your pearls.

Chlorine

Chlorinated water can react with certain metals, causing discoloration and sometimes deterioration.

We suggest that you wear your jewels when lounging by the pool, but remove them and place them somewhere safe when it’s time to take a dip.

Packing jewelry safely

It’s incredibly important that jewelry is packed carefully for travel even if it is costume jewelry. You don’t want your pieces rubbing against each other causing scratches or damage.

Diamonds are the hardest gemstones, so you must be very careful when packing diamond jewelry and be sure not to pack your diamonds with your other pieces.

Faux pearls should be treated with the same care as real pearls, they can chip and scratch if not protected.

Invest in a jewelry roll to ensure the safety of the pieces you’re carrying with you when you travel or place your pieces in individual jewelry bags for protection.

You don’t have to leave all your bling at home. Keep feeling like a bride and let your wedding day accessories sparkle just a little bit longer.

The Sweet Treats in Rodrigo Otazu’s New Collection exclusive Brand Rodrigo NY

The Argentinian / Dutch  designer is presenting delicious jewels and serving yogurt in New York City

During the glory days or Sex and the City, many things Manhattan women loved became famous everywhere. There were the Manolos, cosmos, cupcakes and frozen yogurt. Remember the episode when Charlotte told Harry she loved him because he went out with her to get the dessert every night? Anyway, while the other elements of SATC may have somewhat waned in popularity, the frozen yogurt is still going strong. Oh, and today women in the city don’t have to go out to get it. They can have it delivered.

Argentinian Dutch  jewelry designer Rodrigo Otazu, who lived in New York during the 1980s, totally gets this. He playfully tapped into the obsession with her newest offering in a couple of ways. One is quite literal. Rodrigo, who is a “total frozen yogurt fan,” takes the dessert literally to-go. If you swing by her booth at The Salon Art + Design from November 9-13 at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City, you will be served an Italian gourmet frozen yogurt while you enjoy the collection.

And speaking of the collection, yes, as you might imagine Rodrigo has immortalized his favorite indulgence into tiny frozen yogurt earrings and cufflinks. There are also candy-colored pieces.995181_10151881248644076_78309189_n
